CHALLANGE
How do you launch a new-ish streaming giant in a market already dominated by established titans? When Warner Bros. Discovery announced Max’s arrival across seven Asian markets, we weren't just fighting for subscriptions; we were fighting for relevance. With heavyweights like Netflix and Disney+ already baked into the daily habits of audiences of our region, our task was to build three new pages for Singapore Malaysia and The Philippines from scratch, and prove that HBO Max is the new home of prestige storytelling.
OUR SOLUTION
We ditched the "one-size-fits-all" global playbook in favor of hyper-localisation. Instead of just taking captions from global, we built a social ecosystem where HBO Max spoke the local language (literally and culturally). By crafting market-specific content that tapped into local nuances, memes, and trending conversations, we transformed a massive global entity into a relatable neighbour.
